Job Summary

AECOM is recruiting for a new project in South America entitled: Promotion of Best Environmental and Social Management Practices. The purpose of this activity is to facilitate multi-stakeholder agreement on Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the four priority sectors (hydro-power, roads, oil and gas, and mining), and then support the promotion, implementation, and monitoring/enforcement of these BMPs in the Amazon region. Countries of performance may include: Peru, Colombia and Brazil. All the below positions are technical with a strong preference for South American nationals from these three countries. Fluency in Spanish is a requirement for opportunities in Colombia and Peru. Brazilian Portuguese is a requirement for opportunities in Brazil.

The Communications Specialist will manage and provide technical direction to effectively articulate project goals, results, and impacts to broad audiences and oversee the development and use of project communications tools, products, and deliverables for social marketing and behavior change communications (BCC) initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant communications experience working with donor-funded environment projects, preferably in Peru, Colombia, and Brazil.

  • Degree in Communications, Social Marketing, Behavior Change Communications, or related discipline.

  • Practical experience designing and implementing multimedia communications tools, products, and campaigns for wide and diverse audiences and social and behavior change communications (SBCC) initiatives.

  • Written and spoken fluency in English and Spanish or Portuguese.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multilateral donor experience.

  • Previous USAID experience.
